Bentley is a 1-year old Pit Mix that came to our home several months ago. We finally discovered who the owner was and quickly realized that his treatment and home life was NOT good. Bentley decided that he wanted to stay at our house, and after taking Bentley home on several occasions, he just kept coming back. Finally, I went and asked his owner if we could take him, as we simply just wanted him out of the extreme cold and to have a better life. His owner forfeited him immediately without any resistance. We are a very busy household, with many pets, long working hours, and a new baby. With this mind, we are not offering Bentley a home environment that he should be in. We knew that when we offered to take him; however, our intention was to save him from his current ownership and find him a great place to live. Bentley enjoys companionship and a job to do. We absolutely love him and he enjoys us and our children, but we want him to be in a home where he is the focus. He would be great with a single man, or a couple with only him as the pet. Bentley is good with other dogs his size, but can not be trusted with smaller dogs and/or cats. We believe with the proper training and continuous work, Bentley would learn to adapt. Bentley is very good off-leash. He comes immediately when asked and responds well with other basic requests.
